The group is comprised of six decades of alumni who live throughout the U. The Alumni Association had challenged chapters to create a “legacy” – therefore the Emporia Connection Scholarship was born. Deadline for the 2018-2019 application is March 30, 2018. The scholarship will be equal to current undergraduate in-state tuition and fees, the current Resident Hall fee (double room) including the full meal plan, and the current average cost of books for a full-time student in good academic standing. Complete applications can be turned in to the Financial Aid, Scholarships, & Veterans Services office. This gift was left for the descendants of her parents, Richard Byron and Mary Frances Barnett Headrick, to provide scholarship funds for higher education.
Applicants must be an entering freshman or new transfer student and have minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Deadline for the 2018-2019 application is 5 p.m., February 1, 2018. Persons eligible to receive distributions of the earnings shall be descendants of Richard Byron and Mary Frances Barnett Headrick -- either by blood relation or by legal adoption -- and shall include the legal spouses of such descendants.
